Level 5 is an interactive American English course for students aged 9 to 14 working at B1 level. Students talk about friendships, sports, and hobbies while refining their grammar, reading longer texts, and learning to give opinions and explain their reasons instead of answering in short phrases. Use it to prepare students for the Cambridge B1 Preliminary (PET) exam, or teach it as a regular English course. Every lesson comes with a workbook for homework, every unit ends with assessments, and new units are added regularly.

Tasks where students say what they think and explain why
Longer texts with comprehension questions that need real thinking
Longer audio at B1 with questions that check detail, not just gist
Emails, notes, articles, and stories, built up step by step
Mid-unit checks and end-of-unit tests to track progress

Level 5 is a B1 course for students aged 9 to 13. It fits students who can already hold a simple conversation and read a short text on their own, and who are ready to give opinions and explain their reasons. If they're still building that base, start with Level 4.

Yes. The comprehension and writing tasks use the same formats as the Cambridge B1 Preliminary (PET) exam, so students get used to the exam tasks as they go. It also works as a regular English course if your students aren't sitting the exam.

Level 5 is the B1 stage of the Easy Peasy Learning core curriculum, an American English course built for teachers of children and young learners aged 9 to 13. Each unit takes one everyday topic, such as friendships or sports and hobbies, and works through it across 8 interactive lessons and 2 assessments. Students build topic vocabulary, refine their grammar, read longer texts, and learn to give opinions and explain their reasons rather than answering in short phrases. Every lesson comes with a workbook for homework, so the language carries on after class.
The reading, listening, writing, and speaking tasks use the same formats as the Cambridge B1 Preliminary (PET) exam, which makes Level 5 a fit for exam prep as well as regular English classes. Writing covers emails, notes, and articles, built up step by step so students know what each task expects. Lessons run in your browser with no printing or prep, take 30 to 50 minutes depending on your pacing, and work in online classes on Zoom, ClassIn, KoalaGo, and Tencent Meeting, or on a classroom smartboard. Yearly members can also send students a preview link to look through a lesson on their own device.
New units are added regularly, and your subscription covers them as they go up. If your students aren't ready for B1 yet, Level 4 covers A2 and builds toward the Cambridge A2 Key (KET) exam. You can also browse all lessons for speaking, debate, and exam practice material to use alongside the core course.

Hi! Are there any new material? I haven’t received an email since early this year.
Hi Nikie,
Will be batch posting unit 3 for levels 4 and 5 once I finish those. There is a lot of new material on the A1 and B2 speaking courses, as well as escape rooms and build it games. I also have a new Phonics Level 4 course with 10 lessons that I will batch post soon.
Hi! I was wondering if there will be new lessons. I’m trying to decide whether or not to start my students with your curriculum or move them to another. It would be great to know your timeline.
Hi Ginny! I will upload the first two lesson of unit 2 this week, and lesson 3 next week. Starting April 15th 2 lessons for level 4 and 5 will come out each week. 🙂 Hope this helps!
Hi Marcella. I’m really looking forward to the new units, but I have to begin looking at other curriculum options. I love your core curriculum, but have several students that need to move on as they finished it quite awhile ago. Please let us know with an announcement when you are adding more units!
Hi Tammy! Just got back from maternity leave. This level is my priority will be uploading this week! Will send an announcement with updates as well. Thank you!
